  1. Welcome and Introductions

  2. Dave Skovholt, Outreach Coordinator from the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry will brief the group and be available to respond to questions as part of a group discussion on the new Minnesota Wage Theft Law made effective 7/1/19.  This new law will affect ALL Minnesota employers.  The penalties for non-compliance are substantial.   The group will hash out some of the key scenarios for schools.   More information on the new law is available on the DLI website.

  3. Jim Vollmer, Assistant Director, Employee & Labor Relations  from the St. Paul Public Schools will bring the group up-to-date on the campaign and election by St. Paul employees to move to the Public Employees Insurance Program (PEIP), and its implications with respect to bargaining, existing vendor contracts, and ongoing operations.

  4. Reports and Updates on Settlements
Please come prepared to share a brief update as to where you are in the process of negotiating your teachers’ contract.  Specifically please share the main issues they have brought to the table as well as any other issues or proposals you feel would be of interest to the group.
