Registration

  • Existing Business Members may attend lunch and the presentation portion of the meeting. Reports and updates on settlements are closed to just school negotiators.
  • Drop-in attendance to the meeting. Fee pays for lunch, facility, and administration costs.
  • Attendance for full State Negotiators members.

  2. The Art of Finance During Negotiations
    The first part of this session will begin with a short, high-level presentation on the fundamental components involved in contract costing by Tiffany Gustin, Associate Director of Management Services for the Minnesota School  Boards Association. 
    The second part of the session will be an expansive and interactive group conversation focusing on the practices of effective and faithful labor negotiators with respect to financials.   This conversation will feature perspectives from:

    Ibrahima Diop, Chief Financial Officer, Minneapolis Public Schools
    Tiffany Gustin, Associate Director of Management Services, MSBA
    Gary Lee, Deputy Executive Director, MSBA
    Matt Mons, General Counsel and Director of HR, White Bear Lake Area Schools
    Maggie Sullivan, Chief HR Officer, Minneapolis Public Schools

  4. Reports and Updates on Settlements
    Please come prepared to share a brief update as to where you are in the process of negotiating your teachers’ contract.  Specifically please share the main issues they have brought to the table as well as any other issues or proposals you feel would be of interest to the group.
