Audience: MN district administrators responsible for compliance and involved in operations related to employee compensation. This webinar is open to all Minnesota school administrators.

In the first segment of this two-part presentation, Liz Fischer, Director of Human Resources for Willmar Public Schools, will give a brief overview of the parts of the new Wage Theft law that are pressing for the beginning of the school year at the district.  She will go on to describe and show examples of her solutions to comply with the law including: the initial notice and materials for new employees, the process for returning employees, and describe plans for providing notice as a result of changes such as retro pay and other adjustments.
In the course of the presentation, Liz will also describe how the information has been shared with employees, their reactions, and common questions.

For the second segment of the session, Trevor Helmers, Shareholder with Rupp, Anderson, Squires, & Waldspurger, P.A., will share a handful of the interesting points that he and Liz encountered in reviewing the new law and how best to interpret it given Willmar's CBAs.

Liz has offered to share the a copy of the employee notice template with member-attendees.
