In this session, Brian White, Executive Director of HR & Operations for Auburn-Washburn USD 437, will share his best practices and advice accumulated in over three years of hosting and attending virtual recruiting events for teacher candidates. This session will help you understand how to get the most out of recruiting teachers through virtual job fairs.

• The key elements of engaging with teacher candidates before, during, and after any virtual job fair.
• Techniques to enlist principals and other hiring managers in your district.
• How to prepare in the central office, and how to support hiring managers.
• How (and why) to increase awareness of the event.
• What to look for in a virtual job fair that is hosted by someone else.

About Brian White

Brian White is the Executive Director of HR & Operations for Auburn-Washburn Unified School District 437 (Topeka, KS). Over the last three years, Brian has led his district's efforts to attract talented educators more effectively. This effort has paid off in the form of two consecutive CandE awards, recognizing the district's excellent candidate experience as rated by their candidates. Brian's innovations have also helped USD 437 grow its recruiting efforts through the pandemic because of a pre-pandemic introduction of virtual recruiting practices.

Brian has organized over a dozen virtual job fairs for his and neighboring districts, and has attended scores more as a recruiter.
