State Negotiators March Meeting

Registration

  • Standard and Premier Business Members may attend the program portion of the meeting. Reports and updates on settlements are closed to just school negotiators.
  • Basic Business Members may attend the presentation portion of the meeting. Reports and updates on settlements are closed to just school negotiators.
  • Drop-in attendance to the meeting. In-person or virtual.
  • Attendance for full State Negotiators members.

Registration is closed

This in-person meeting begins with plated lunch from 11:30 to 12:30.  Virtual attendance to the Presentation portion of the meeting is available to those that do not attend in-person.

Lunch start: 11:30 a.m.   
Meeting start: 12:30/12:45 p.m.

Meeting Agenda:

  1. Introduction, review of norms, and meeting agenda

  2. Topics:  
    1. Legislative Update

    2. Todd Doncavage, Deputy Commissioner, Minnesota Bureau of Mediation Services give a brief presentation about the role that BMS plays in terms of the mediators, statutory requirements, and the outlook that mediators take on behalf of the State.

    3. Anne Becker, General Counsel, Intermediate District 287, will share a recent negotiations experience involving: picketing; strike threats throughout the entire process; three months of mediation; and a surprise ending!

  3. Reports and Updates on Settlements
    Moderated group discussion: members share a brief update as to where they are in the process of negotiating teachers’ and other contracts. Includes please share the main issues they have brought to the table as well as any other issues or proposals you feel would be of interest to the group.
