School HR staff can't be everywhere all the time, so it is up to you to support your supervisors and managers in personnel issues.   Part of that support is providing them informaion about the ADA.  What do school supervisors and managers need to know about the ADA disability interactive process?  What is a “reasonable accommodation?”  How does a Principal determine who is eligible for an accommodation, and what responsibilities do supervisors and managers need to know? 

This session will present a packaged training video and how you can use it to provide training in your organization to your front line supervisors.  The training video will available to all MASPA members and attendees of the 2023 MASPA Winter Conference. 

It will provide you with a focused, reusable package that includes:

1. The essentials when it comes to the obligations in accordance with the I of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA); and, 
2. How the ADA disability interactive process works.

The goal of the training is for managers and supervisors to leave having a general understanding of the disability interactive process, what they can expect from this process, as well what their role is in this process.
