2. PEIP Review

   In late 2022, Minnesota Management & Budget (MMB) issued an RFP soliciting proposals for a consultant to review the Public Employees Insurance Program (PEIP) to determine how the offered programs fit into the Minnesota insurance environment, what alternative products are available to local units of government and provide guidance on the future of the program. MMB selected Segal to develop this report.

   Nicki Hughes, Senior Health Consultant with Segal and lead author of the report, will join the group to present the methodology, design, and key findings of the December 2023 report. Attendees will receive an electronic copy of the report and learn how stakeholder feedback was factored into the key findings, including a review of the discussion guide and interview questions used to gather feedback.

   Moderated group discussion: members share a brief update as to where they are in the process of negotiating teachers’ and other contracts. Includes main issues they have brought to the table as well as any other issues or proposals you feel would be of interest to the group.
